Conveniently located in the central plateau of New Zealand’s North Island, the Great lake Taupo region is within easy driving distance of six of New Zealand’s major cities. The Taupo Domestic Airport is just 8km from the town centre and has regular scheduled flights from both Auckland and Wellington as well as being one of the busiest charter and private aircraft terminals in the country.

Great Lake Taupō is… ancient forests, thermal water features, volcanoes, massive caldera craters such as Lake Taupō - the largest freshwater lake in Australasia – and the mountains and snowfields of the dual World Heritage status - Tongariro National Park.
