The Kaikoura District, known for where the mountains meet the sea has some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country with a stunning coastline, a dramatic peninsula and some of the South Island’s highest mountains. The seaside settlement of Kaikoura is located on the east coast of the South Island – 2½ hours’ drive north from Christchurch and just over 2 hours south of Picton, making Kaikoura an ideal location for both north and south bound travellers.

South Pacific Helicopters was founded in 2016 by CEO Daniel Stevenson. Growing up on a farm in southern New Zealand, he developed a love for helicopters which led to a career path in aviation flying in 2004 right here in Kaikoura taking tourists and locals alike on whale watching and scenic tours by helicopter. Our packages included an selection of relaxing and adventure driven experiences.
