Pure Pākati is Tourism New Zealand’s custom typeface, made unique by three simple notches which were inspired by the story of Toi Kai Rakau searching for his grandson.
Toi bound a stick of wood with three lashings and set is adrift in the hope that it would reach him. The lashings represented three questions: Where are you? How are you? When will you be back?
This story of love and care between whānau (family) members reminds us of what it means to embrace visitors as part of our whānau. Manaakitanga (hospitality) plays a key role in Māori society and inspires the New Zealand visitor experience.
Kia ora - welcome to our final edition of Korero for 2015. It has been a busy and successful year for Business Events arrivals ex Australia into New Zealand. For this outstanding result we have you to thank! Thank you for choosing New Zealand. We look forward to working with you, meeting or connecting over the coming 12 months. Wishing you all a safe and wonderful festive season.
