31st October - 1st November 2018
Cordis, Auckland

Kia Ora,

Welcome to the CINZ Annual Conference and AGM, being held in Auckland for the first time. For those that visit, the health check of a city can be in a crane count. Last count here in Auckland was 83, accounting for 66% of cranes in the whole of New Zealand. The city is in great health as many hotels and of course NZICC are taking shape. It is a truly international city and the new Conference Centre will attract Conferences of a size we have not seen before. So it is timely that we have a number of international guests speak to us on trends, what the future holds for the sector, and of course the talent pipeline. All great things to talk about.

There will be the traditional networking, catching up with the industry and seeing the sights of Auckland. View this with the eyes of a visitor, explore the city as if you are new to town, wear out the shoe leather and see what interesting things Auckland has to offer.

As with all Conferences, we know you come to learn, network and refresh yourself before you head back to your home town and workplace.

A strong 2018 theme is 'Breaking New Ground'. Big Spaces, big conferences, big stages and of course the big global world we work in. You will hear what is on trend off shore, how conferences are being designed, what once was a hot topic is now the norm, and what the new hot topics are. There will be the traditional presentations this year with a few changes and additions such as panels, workshops, Ted Talks and lots more.

As we continue on our educational theme of "eyes up", looking beyond Aotearoa New Zealand to the world, Tourism New Zealand have supported us by hosting multiple International Speakers.

This year we have introduced an Emerging Talent stream. This is an opportunity for those that don't usually get the opportunity to travel to Conference to hear from 6 wonderful speakers including Sian Simpson, a millennial with a great attitude to life and work. This sort of professional development cannot be overlooked. We will welcome the leaders of the future to this half day.

The CINZ team look forward to seeing you at the Cordis Hotel, Auckland on the 31st October - 1st November 2018.

Nga mihi

Sue Sullivan
