From Concept to the Table – Vegetarian Lunch and Dinner Menu at Sojourn Café, Wellington

Understanding the hotels impact on the natural environment has always been an important consideration at the James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor and for the hotel’s two restaurants; Sojourn Café & Whitby’s Restaurant. A dedicated ‘Green Team’ has been in place for a number of years, collaborating monthly to share ideas and drive new initiatives. In 2018, the hotel introduced sustainable packaging, including metal straws, wooden takeaway cutlery and compostable coffee cups.

The concept of delivering a complete Lunch and Dinner vegetarian menu for ten days was established 
to focus on fresh, sustainable produce and tasteful combinations. Designed to share, each item on the menu highlights a different vegetable, enriched with harmonising ingredients.  Priced between $8 - $12, selected dishes are also vegan and gluten-free. 

Sojourn Café is located on the lobby level of the hotel, with the 100% Vegetarian Menu served until the 17th of November – the perfect opportunity to try something different!
