Doug Kamo’s meteoric rise as one of New Zealand’s most exciting and engaging MC’s has seen him in hot demand by corporate clients nationally and internationally to host conferences, awards ceremonies, special events, conventions, workshops and live promotional events.

His experience and unique MC style comes from 22 years’ experience at the forefront of the New Zealand entertainment industry where his skills as a producer, director, singer, dancer, actor and improviser have been honed, tested and succeeded on a myriad of different audiences.

 He has been engaged across the association and corporate sectors by clients such as Rugby World Cup 2011, Motorsport NZ, Queenstown Winter Festival, Vodafone, Telecom, L’Oreal, Air New Zealand, Coca Cola, Sovereign Insurance, Vodafone, Toyota, NZ Travel Industry Awards, New Zealand Kitchen & Bathroom Awards, NZ Lotteries Commission, NZ Bus & Coach Association, Harraways NZ, CINZ and many more.

 Dunedin-based he is one of the busiest producers, directors and entertainers in the country having amassed an impressive array of drama, television, concert and musical theatre credits.

 As a producer and director, he has been responsible for over 30 national and international musical theatre productions including The Rocky Horror Show, Les Miserables, The Producers, The Addams Family, The Buddy Holly Story, JC Superstar, Hot Shoe Shuffle, Cabaret, Chess, Me & My Girl, 42nd Street and A Chorus Line to name a few. He toured New Zealand & Asia in the international casts of Chicago & Joseph & the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

 He produced Dunedin’s sellout season of Mamma Mia! followed by his visionary production of Grease: The Arena Spectacular Live for which he was awarded Best Direction & Best Overall Production at the Otago Southland Theatre Awards. He produced and directed the critically acclaimed production of Mary Poppins in Dunedin and will continue his reign as the leading musical theatre producer and director in the lower South Island with several new productions including a return season of Mamma Mia, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert and Wicked.

 Television credits include regular guest appearances on Xena Warrior Princess, Street Legal, Shortland Street, The Pretender and Passion in Paradise. As a television host he fronted the high profile weekly draw of Lotto for 2 ½ years as well as The Lounge, 3 seasons of Destination New Zealand, the award winning reality game show - The Vodafone V24 Challenge and the Living Channels travel show ‘Hit the Road’.

He is renowned for his improvisational skills and for developing exceptional bespoke MC characters and experiences that combines thorough research with his own business experience, performance skills and innovative creative ideas.
