With over 20 years’ experience, Prue has worked within several global hospitality companies including Accor Hotels and the then called Starwood Hotels and Resorts. However, it was not until she joined the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) in 2009 where her focus and passion for business events was realised. Holding the positions of Assistant Director of Sales and Senior Manager Customer Experience, during her 7 years at MCEC she was awarded a number of industry accolades.

These included Meetings and Events Australia’s National Business Development Person of the Year. In October 2016, Prue made the move “across the ditch” to join the New Zealand International Convention Centre (NZICC) team as Director of Sales. During the last 18 months Prue has expanded her role to include SkyCity Events, who have partnered with Wētā Workshop Unleashed and the All Blacks Experience to manage the events market for their new Auckland experiences.

Her key responsibilities include leading the sales and event planning teams, the development and implementation of sales and business development activities; maintaining strong relationships with association, government, and corporate clients; and strengthening the strategic partnerships with Auckland Convention Bureau and Tourism New Zealand to ensure the success of large-scale international bidding and the growth of the business events sector for New Zealand.
